Exposing 5 of My Most Unhinged Thoughts about ADHD

The ADHD label fits me like a glove - I sobbed when reading about rejection sensitivity because I couldn't believe how something that wasn't written about me, could be so spot on. And the revelations just kept on coming; my whole life began to make sense.
Add to a lifetime of personal experience, 15 years industry experience working with thousands of ADHDers, and my understanding has further broadened and deepened to now include beliefs that wouldn't be out of place in a sci-fi novel.
The theme for October's ADHD Awareness month is The Many Faces of ADHD and so I'm sharing 5 of the faces rarely - if ever - spoken about that I think are linked to ADHD.
Here are 5 of my most unhinged beliefs when it comes to ADHD.

1. We Are Tuned In To Different Frequencies
Our bodily senses are a bit out of sync - lights feel too bright, noises too distressing. But maybe that's because we also have an array of other senses, from reading energy to vivid dreams.
It's like we're not fully anchored in this earthly reality and we're capable of, whether we're aware of it or not, tapping in to all sorts of other frequencies and realms.
It really isn't rare in the ADHD and general neurodivergent community to come across an abundance of psychics, mediums, tarot readers, healers, witches and more.
Even when I'm talking with the young people I support, it's uncanny the amount of times they bring up being able to see, feel and hear things that others can't, they tell me about dreams coming true and feelings that turn out to be right.
I couldn't help but form the conclusion that those with ADHD type systems are either more able to tune in than neurotypical people, or just naturally tuned in to more than just this world. Maybe that's why our earthly senses are skewhiff and we're more often overwhelmed by the density of this reality.
- I might hate bright lights, the sound of chewing, miss social cues and forget to eat, but I can talk to the dead, tell when someone is lying to me and predict future outcomes with scary accuracy.

2. The ADHD Label is Designed to Suppress Us
Ok, so maybe we walked right into this one because discovering the ADHD label helped me to feel really seen and begin a fantastic healing journey.
BUT, if all us ADHDers believe we're the crappy, chaotic counterpart to the desirable mainstream, we might never discover our true natural gifts and abilities. Things such as powerful intuition, high healing capacity, connecting with other realms and more. Far better to keep us occupied with trying to cope and survive in environments that not only don't suit us, they actively work against our natural flow. Otherwise we could be quite the threat to the establishment.
The ADHD label captures all the things we struggle with and find hard.
I went beyond the label. And I now encourage others to do the same, with my platform, A Different Human Design.
I think we're powerful. And I think if more of us realised our powers, we'd pose a serious disruption to the status quo. Something that is fiercely protected by multiple corrupt systems.
And something we're only really hindered from destroying by our own lack of consistency as ADHDers. Haha.

3. ADHD is NECESSARY for Progression
So I've already establised I think ADHDers are powerful. But I also think they really have got the potential to change the course of the human race.
Just look at past historical figures that are known for their revolutionary thought, vision, art and inventions - so many are thought to have been autistic and ADHD by today's standards. It took the ones who thought differently to seek more, and to shake things up.
From Leonardo Da Vinci to Einstein to Walt Disney and Richard Branson the list goes on and on.
Without the ADHD-type people, nothing would be discovered, adapted or developed - or it would eventually, but it would take a lot longer.
In my mind, the neurotypicals just get on with it without much question or resistance and the ADHD types come along pushing for progression and triggering evolution

4. The Rise in ADHD is Divine Intervention
ADHDers are curious, adventurous and daring. They're the ones in the tribe that are off exploring, they're experimenting, they're creating, thinking, sharing their passions and shouting about their findings.
And here's the thing - there's only a few like this in each tribe because you only need a few to keep things moving along nicely.
Yet our ADHD numbers keep on increasing.
Now, I'm sure there's a host of reasons for this. From better recognition and raised awareness, to procreation, and bigger populations in general.
But a reason you won't read about regularly is divine intervention.
I think, and yes I know how crazy this sounds but hear me out, that the universe is sending larger and larger numbers of outside the box thinkers on purpose.
Because right now, we need a revolution.
Education needs to change.
Politics need to change.
Society needs to change.
The world needs to change.
And it's an ADHD army that could do it.
That is why the numbers are rising.
ADHDers are activists, environmentalists, naturalists, they are artists, creators, charity workers, they are empathetic, charismatic, open-minded and forward thinking. They are non-conformists and unafraid to carve a new path.
We now have more of these wonderful people than ever before, and they're all doing their bit to raise the vibration, to improve earth, to evolve humanity, to advocate for a future of peace, creativity and community.
We could be the change.
I like to believe we will be that change.

5. The Natural Cycles Regulate Us
I find it really hard to switch off and in the last few years I realised I basically just work until I burn out, recover and then start the cycle all over again.
I tried to have a certain evening that I rested on but my novelty seeking brain hated knowing it would always be the same day, so I tried to just take at least one evening off a week but just never stuck to it. In a moment of desperation I decided to use the moon cycle as a way of structuring when and how I worked. The moon phases provided opportunities to do something nourishing, like visit a forest or have an awesome goddess bath. And put very simply, the 28-day-cycle comprises of 14 days of action (as the moon grows from new to full) and 14 days of a more restful approach (as it decreases from full to new).
This was something for me to follow and structure my life around. I also took into account the seasonal cycles and think of winter as rest, rejuvenate and prepare, in comparison to spring which is full of foundational work and intentional action.
Since recognising these natural cycles it's like my whole system aligned and things just felt a little better.
I'm not totally rigid in my rituals - my life is still busy af and pretty chaotic - I do what I can, when I can which is often just thinking and reflecting.
But, I swear it's enough and I swear it works.
It's totally free to try. You have nothing to lose by trying it out.
And if you're wondering. Yes I hug trees and yes, I'm sure that helps too.
Seriously though, whilst our young people continue to be subjected to the current programmes, ADHDers are growing up traumatised and trapped.
I hope I have planted a seed, or few, that ADHD doesn't always have to be the disorder it's been categorised as. I hope I have inspired to see ADHD people in a different light.
